Reporting bugs
Bugs and feature requests go to GitHub issues. A good report makes a fix much faster.
-
Check that it still happens with the latest release, and search the existing issues.
-
Collect the debug report. Select the cell where the problem shows and press D. jOtter shows debug information about that cell and copies it to the clipboard: the jOtter version, the cell’s type, id and size, a summary of its outputs, how it was rendered, and the execution and kernel state. It doesn’t include your code or output text. Paste it into the issue.
-
Record a log if the problem involves the kernel or anything that happens over time:
Terminal window jotter --log /tmp/jotter.log notebook.ipynbReproduce the problem, quit, and attach the log.
-
Say what you expected and what happened, with the steps to get there. Include your terminal (and version), whether you use tmux, and your
config.tomlif you have one.
A minimal notebook that shows the problem is the most useful attachment of all.
