Mouse
jOtter works fully from the keyboard, but the mouse is there when you want it.
| Action | Does |
|---|---|
| Click a cell | Select it |
| Click inside the cell you are editing | Move the cursor there |
| Double-click a cell | Edit it in insert mode at that spot |
| Wheel | Scroll the notebook, or the long output under the pointer |
| Shift + drag | Select text with your terminal’s own selection |
A wheel gesture sticks to what it started on: if you start scrolling the notebook and the pointer passes over a long output, the notebook keeps scrolling.
Because jOtter captures mouse events, your terminal’s normal drag-to-select doesn’t reach it. Holding Shift bypasses this in almost every terminal. To copy a whole cell, yy is quicker: it puts the source on the clipboard.
